宮城県女川町には東日本大震災直後、インド国家災害対応部隊（NDRF）が現地で活動しました。「還暦以上は口を出さない」町づくりそして復幸（ふっこう）が進んでいます。本プロジェクトを通して、インドと女川の絆が再構築され、女川に学ぶ将来の国際リーダーが育つことを願っています。

Assistant Professor Mika Kunieda will work closely with Professor Rajib Shaw, of the Graduate School of Media and Governance, who heads India Japan Laboratory (http://indiajapanlab.org and https://www.kri.sfc.keio.ac.jp/en/lab/indiajapan/), and has worked and written extensively on disaster risk reduction and environmental management to organize the program content. The Indian experts will visit Onagawa at the end of April to early May (Japan’s Golden Week) and a solution design hackathon will be organized based on the insights obtained.

1)　Identification of former coordination points in Japan’s National Disaster Management Agency and National Disaster Response Force, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
2)　Learn from Prof. Rajib Shaw on the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and use the Framework and annexed checklists as a basis of fieldwork-based solution design
3)　Input by then Commander National Disaster Response Force Mr. Alok Avasthy and Ms. Sujata Saunik then of the Indian National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to Onagawa. (p. 224 of Disaster Management of India )

Ms. Saunik was a Takemi Fellow 2017-2018 at the T.H. Chan Harvard School of Public Health, in the same cohort of the applicant and proposed host Assistant Professor Mika Kunieda, Faculty of Policy Management and is still in contact with the Commander dispatched to Onagawa
4)　IRIDES (International Research Institute of Disaster Science) of Tohoku University members will help coordinate the visit to Onagawa along with Onagawa community members
